Who Virtual IOP is for

Virtual IOP is for adults 18 and older across Ohio who need more support than weekly therapy but do not need residential or 24-hour care.

  • Alcohol and substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants and other drugs
  • Substance use with co-occurring depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD or OCD
  • Step-down after inpatient treatment or detox, when you still need structured support
  • Adults seeking a higher level of care than weekly outpatient therapy provides
  • People anywhere in Ohio who want evidence-based treatment without driving to a clinic

Not sure if you qualify? Call 513-928-3339, 7 AM–11 PM, and a member of our intake team will speak with you directly. A clinical assessment confirms the right level of care before you start.

How we care for you

Six commitments shape every part of the program.

Physician-led care, start to finish

Your treatment is directed by our Medical Director, a psychiatrist, with a consistent clinical team rather than rotating prescribers. The same team that guides you through IOP carries you into step-down care, so your diagnosis, medications and therapy stay aligned.

Integrated dual-diagnosis care

Mental health and substance use treatment are not handled separately. When depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD or OCD are part of the picture, the same care team addresses them, because these conditions affect each other.

Medication-assisted treatment in-house

Buprenorphine (Suboxone), naltrexone (oral or monthly Vivitrol), acamprosate, disulfiram and psychiatric medications are prescribed and managed by our clinical team. You do not need a separate provider or a second intake appointment for MAT.

Evidence-based and trauma-informed care

Our clinical approach draws on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed practices. Mindfulness and somatic practices are woven in alongside talk therapy, supporting the whole person rather than symptoms alone.

Relapse prevention and long-term recovery support

Relapse prevention is not a module at the end of the program. It runs through every session from the beginning, so you build coping strategies, emotional regulation skills and the self-awareness to recognize early warning signs.

Care coordination for you and your family

Your care coordinator helps with practical barriers to recovery such as housing, transportation, benefits and community resources. When clinically appropriate, family therapy brings the people closest to you into the process, because lasting recovery is stronger when the people around you understand it.

What treatment includes

Every patient receives an integrated treatment plan delivered across three weekly group sessions, plus individual therapy and medication management.

  • Live group therapy three times a week, plus individual therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication management
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when clinically indicated, managed in-house
  • DBT and CBT skill-building for emotional regulation, stress management and relapse prevention
  • Mindfulness and somatic practices within trauma-informed group work
  • Social and communication skills to support recovery in daily life
  • Care coordination and community resource linkage
  • Family therapy when clinically appropriate
  • A structured step-down track for ongoing maintenance and aftercare

Live, clinician-led group sessions

Every session is live: a real-time video group led by a licensed clinician, with the same small group of peers meeting consistently through the week. The program runs three weekly formats.

Learning group

Structured psychoeducation on addiction, mental health and recovery. You learn about the brain, behavior, triggers and the evidence behind what works, in a way that invites questions and discussion.

Skills group

Active practice of DBT and CBT tools: emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication and relapse prevention. Sessions are hands-on, with real scenarios and skills rehearsed in the group.

Process group

A facilitated space to share what you are experiencing, receive support from peers who understand, and apply the skills you are building to what is happening in your life.

Getting started takes one phone call

Here is what happens next.

Step 1: Call us

Call 513-928-3339, 7 AM–11 PM, or start on our appointments page. Our intake team will register you, help you set up your patient portal and verify your insurance.

Step 2: Clinical assessment

Your therapist conducts a clinical assessment by phone or video to confirm that Virtual IOP is the right level of care and begins building your individualized treatment plan.

When your group is forming, your therapist contacts you to schedule your start date. You join a small group with direct, personal attention from our clinical team, and when IOP ends, step-down care is available with the same team if you choose to continue.
