Questions you might have

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, call 513-928-3339.

How do I know if my child has ADHD or is just energetic?

Kids are naturally energetic! But if focus, following directions, or sitting still is consistently hard across different settings—home, school, activities—it’s worth getting an evaluation.

Can adults be diagnosed with ADHD?

Absolutely. Many people aren’t diagnosed until adulthood, after years of struggling with things that seem easy for everyone else. ADHD doesn’t disappear with age, but treatment really helps.

What is the difference between ADD and ADHD?

ADD is an older term. Today, it is included under ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) .

ADHD has three types:

  • Inattentive (formerly called ADD)
  • Hyperactive-Impulsive
  • Combined

In short, ADD is now considered a type of ADHD , even without hyperactivity.

Do I have to take medication?

Not at all. Some people do great with medication, others prefer therapy and coaching alone. We’ll work with you to find what feels right.

What if I also have anxiety or depression?

That’s common. We treat ADHD alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, and other concerns—all in one place.
