SOS Wellness LLC – Middletown and Norwood (Cincinnati), OH – On-site and telehealth
Job Type: 1099 Independent Contractor – part-time, supplemental, or full panel
Pay: Competitive rates for today’s market
Location: Middletown or Norwood (Cincinnati) – on-site hours preferred, with telehealth as part of the mix
Schedule: You set it – half-days, single days, evenings, or a standing weekly block
Practice psychiatry on your terms. Bring the hours you have. Keep the license, the autonomy, and the paycheck.
SOS Wellness is a modern behavioral health practice built from the ground up in Southwest Ohio. We are looking for a general or adult psychiatrist who wants meaningful clinical work without signing away their calendar – whether that is one afternoon a week, a standing weekly clinic day, or something closer to full-time.
This is a 1099 contract role designed for physicians who already have a primary position, a private panel, an academic appointment, or a life they are not willing to reorganize. You tell us what you can give us. We build the schedule around it.
Our patients are adults across the full diagnostic spectrum – mood, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, psychosis, and co-occurring substance use. We are CARF-accredited, OhioMHAS-licensed, and LegitScript-certified, with a real administrative team behind every clinician.
Why physicians take this role
- The schedule is genuinely yours. Half-days, one day a week, evenings, or a full panel – you choose the days, the hours, and the patient volume. If your availability changes next quarter, we adjust. Flexibility is the entire point of how this role is structured.
- In-person and telehealth, blended. We are prioritizing physicians who can spend at least part of their hours on site in Middletown or Norwood. Telehealth is a real part of the model, and telehealth patients are seen in the office periodically – some presentations simply need an in-person visit. The blend is worked out with you.
- Collaboration with our nurse practitioner team. You will serve as collaborating physician for our psychiatric NPs – chart review, curbside consults, and clinical guidance on complex cases. It is a real part of the role and it is paid as such. For most physicians it is the most interesting part of the week: high-leverage clinical thinking without carrying the panel yourself.
- A real admin team, not a promise of one. Billing, prior authorizations, intake, scheduling, and front-office work are handled. You are not chasing prior auths at 9pm.
- No hospital call. No rounding. No cross-coverage. You are responsible for your own patients’ urgent needs – and only your own. You will never be paged about a panel you have never met.
- Collegial by design. Small team, active group chat, regular case discussion, and a medical director with 30+ years in community mental health and addiction medicine who still sees patients. You can pick up the phone and consult a colleague without it being an imposition.
- Work that is worth the hours you give it. We serve Medicaid, underserved, neurodiverse, and in-recovery populations – the patients who most need a psychiatrist and most often cannot find one.
- Room to build. An in-person IOP at Middletown, a Virtual IOP serving patients statewide, and a SPRAVATO program are all in motion. If you want a hand in shaping clinical standards rather than inheriting someone else’s, there is runway here.
What this isn’t
A 30-patient-a-day mill. A practice still running on 2010 systems. A contract that quietly turns into full-time. A place where the physician gets handed the paperwork nobody else wants. If that is what you are looking to leave, or to avoid entirely, come talk to us.
The modern-practice basics
- Valant EHR – documentation that does not fight you
- Telehealth built in, not bolted on
- Billing, prior authorizations, intake, and scheduling handled by a dedicated admin team
- CARF-accredited, OhioMHAS-licensed, LegitScript-certified – the credibility is there, the bureaucracy is not on you
- Interview to offer in about one week
The role
- Psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for adults
- Serve as collaborating physician for our psychiatric nurse practitioners – chart review, consultation, and clinical guidance (required)
- Partner with therapists, case managers, and the nursing team on integrated treatment plans
- Respond to your own patients’ urgent clinical needs during your working hours
- Practice on site in Middletown or Norwood, with telehealth blended in – telehealth patients are brought in for periodic in-person visits
- Set your own schedule – part-time, supplemental, or full panel, 1099
