Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LIMFT, LIMFT-S)

Apply for this role

Updated October 25, 2026 — this position remains open for applications at our two locations: Norwood and Middletown, Ohio.

Bring your warmth, your clinical skill, and your personality. We have a place for all three.

SOS Wellness is a growing behavioral health practice serving Southwest Ohio, and we are hiring licensed therapists who actually like the work, like their coworkers, and like coming in on Mondays. We are looking for clinicians who are clinically strong AND personally engaged—the kind of therapist clients remember, refer their friends to, and ask for by name. We work with individuals and families across the full diagnostic spectrum—including mood, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, substance use, and neurodevelopmental conditions—and we are building a practice that treats both clients and clinicians like humans.

Why Therapists Choose SOS Wellness

  • A Caseload Built Around Real Life: We do not run on a 30-clients-a-week treadmill. We focus on a sustainable pace that leaves you room to actually think and breathe between sessions.
  • Clinical Autonomy with Deep Support: Shape your therapeutic approach, pacing, and structure within your Ohio license and scope of practice. Professional consultation supports your work; clinical supervision is required where applicable to your license and duties.
  • A Team That Genuinely Likes Each Other: Enjoy team lunches, an active group chat, and regular meetings that people actually want to show up for. Plus, we are highly pet-friendly—bring the dog energy!
  • A Mission You’d Actually Post About: We serve a diverse and growing patient base across Medicaid, commercial insurance, underserved, neurodiverse, and recovery populations. We serve the people who need this care most.
  • True Cultural Alignment: We provide trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care that shows up culturally in how we treat each other and build programs, not just on paper.
  • Modern Systems That Respect Your Time: With Valant EHR, pre-built documentation templates, and a dedicated admin team handling credentialing, billing, and prior auths, paperwork won’t eat up your evenings or weekends.

What This Is Not: A high-volume mill. A practice where you are just a productivity number. An outdated system that pushes your documentation into your weekends. If that’s what you’re escaping, come talk to us.

The Modern-Practice Basics

  • Valant EHR with optimized, pre-built clinical documentation templates
  • Built-in telehealth and hybrid remote flexibility where clinical needs allow
  • Full administrative billing, credentialing, and insurance authorization support
  • CARF-accredited, OhioMHAS-licensed, and LegitScript-certified—the credibility is there so the administrative bureaucracy isn’t on you

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based therapy to individuals and families.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments and co-create treatment plans clients can genuinely engage with, within your Ohio license and scope of practice and under required clinical supervision.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions as appropriate.
  • Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation that reflects excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborative case consultations.
  • Coordinate internal referrals and integrated care across the SOS team when clients need multidisciplinary support.

Qualifications

  • Active Ohio License: LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LIMFT, or LIMFT-S.
  • Minimum of 2 years of dedicated clinical experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment paired with the kind of warmth that puts clients at ease in the first ten minutes.
  • Genuine comfort working across diverse payer mixes, including both Medicaid and commercial populations, with a commitment to accessible, dignified care.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Energy, curiosity, and presence—you bring a collaborative spirit to the team beyond just your clinical hours.
  • Comfortable with modern EHR systems and open to streamlined digital workflows.

Bonus Points

  • Independent licensure with a supervisory designation (LPCC-S, LISW-S, or LIMFT-S).
  • A strong background or interest in addiction treatment—we offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and welcome therapists interested in this area, within their Ohio license and scope of practice.
